Las ciencias sociales: un insumo para las plÃticas públicas

Resumen
La grave crisis que vivió Argentina afecta los fundamentos esenciales de la nación. La escasez de propuestas y de proyectos capaces de recomponer las relaciones sociales al interior del Estado obliga a una reflexión crÃtica para contribuir a diagnosticar y aproximar soluciones a los problemas que tiene hoy la nación argentina. El conocimiento multidisciplinar generado desde las ciencias sociales
y humanas es un buen comienzo para conseguir esos objetivos y contribuir a la formulación de polÃticas públicas de mediano y largo plazo. El trabajo pasa revista al camino recorrido por las ciencias sociales en la segunda mitad del siglo XX para saber qué puede y debe esperarse de ellas. Muestra la relación que existe entre las condiciones sociales y los objetos y formas de análisis de dichas ciencias. Concluye que ciencia, polÃtica y sociedad han mantenido y mantienen “relaciones
controvertidas”, y que del rango que se otorgue a la primera, en tanto decisión polÃtica, dependerá el bienestar de la última y, por ello, la obtención de la inclusión, la libertad y la igualdad de oportunidades de los argentinos.
Abstract
The profound crisis experienced by Argentina affects the essential foundations of the nation. The shortage of proposals and projects capable of rebuilding the social relations within the State require a critical reflection to help diagnose and
approximate solutions to todayÂ’s problems of the Argentine nation. The multidisciplinary knowledge generated from the social and human sciences is a good start in getting those goals and contribute to the formulation of public policy for medium and long term. The work looks at the road traveled by the
social sciences in the second half of the twentieth century to find out what can and should be expected of them. Shows the relationship between social conditions and objects and forms of analysis of these sciences. It concludes that science,
politics and society have kept and maintained “contentious relationship” and that of the range that is given to the first –while political decision– will depend the welfare of the latter, and thus obtaining inclusion, freedom and equality of
opportunity for the Argentines.
